A new-wave project out of Larissa, Thessaly from up-and-comer Yiannis Spanos, this Xinomavro rosé is pale, cherry-pink in the glass, it opens with wild strawberry, ripe tomato leaf and a dash of orange peel. The palate is where Xinomavro shows its hand: soft, mellow tannins wrapped in crisp, driving acidity, finishing dry, savoury and utterly moreish. Juicier and chewier than its Provençal siblings, and arriving like the late autumn winds—with a little more bite.
