Stefanos Michalis is that rare breed of human whose skill and passion far exceed the norm.  After stints at renowned restaurants in Greece (L.S. & SIA, Zigkoala and Pharaoh, to name a few) the chef/winemaker and forrager somehow manages to flit between running his own restaurant (Astrahan) and a winery on the island of Anafi, as well as consulting on various winemaking projects across the Peloponnese.

Ktima Flamourou is named after his uncles farm on which the microwinery is located.  Vineyards are spread across the island with some at sea level and others reaching 400m altitude, on terrain that is of granitic bedrock with weathered granite soils containing flysch, greenschist, sand and sedimentary deposits, including a famed single-vineyard of Assyrtiko that Stefanos cultivates for the Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi.

Crafted from well-known Cycladic staples of Assyrtiko & Aidani, as well as rare local varieties such as Gaidouriia, Voudomato and Strofiliatiko, these are rare wines of untold beauty and finesse that capture the wild heart of the island and the free spirit of the man that makes them.
