Kataracha from Ampelostrates, from a single vineyard high up in Koiliomenos, on the slopes of Mount Retsis. It’s the highest vineyard in the area, and that alone tells you quite a bit about the wine: more breeze, cooler conditions, and a wine with plenty of intensity without much weight. There’s fruit, bright acidity and a salty, stony edge that keeps it lively.
