Collection: Orange
It's not what it sounds like. Not exactly. An orange wine is a white wine made like a red wine, i.e. the juice is left to ferment in contact with the skins for any number of days, weeks or months. This contact imparts delicious change: tannins develop, phenols shift and the colour turns, often taking on an amber or orange hue. It's how our ancestors first made wine. It's what the great Dionysus himself would have heartily sloshed in his rhyton. It would've been cloudy, it would've been grippy. Chances are it would have been orange.
