According to experts, Crete is considered the best wine-growing zone in the world. In this blessed place, about 3 generations ago, the history of the Zoumberakis Family in viticulture and the production of fine wine products began.

Our vineyards are located in a unique natural beauty spot of Crete, in Kali Sykia, in the southwest of the Prefecture of Rethymno, on the slopes of Kryoneritis. With its highest peak at 1,312 m, Kryoneritis is a natural continuation of the White Mountains and has ideal morphological and climatic conditions for the development of a rich ecosystem.

Scattered on its outskirts are our organic vineyards, at an altitude of 600 - 800 metres, ideal for growing grapes. A choice made with strict criteria, due to the excellent microclimate of the area for organic viticulture, in terms of temperature, winds, water quality and availability. The composition of the soil, which includes dry shale rocks, is also extremely helpful for our vineyards, creating unique conditions for the performance of organic cultivation.

Our vineyards cover an area of 100 stremmata and are entirely organic, with strict certifications for all stages of cultivation and winemaking, from the sowing of the variety and the movement of agricultural vehicles, to the bottling and labelling of the final product.

In the fertile land of Kali Sykia, we responsibly create wine products that stand out for their taste and characteristics, contributing to the sustainable preservation of the natural environment. It is characteristic that, around our crops, rocky areas are preserved and created where the fauna of the area finds refuge and, in particular, the rich family of birds that thrives in Kryoneritis.

A small, green paradise is the base of the Zoumberakis Family, in Rethymno, Crete. Here, with vision and true love for nature and its products, we cultivate our own philosophy of life every day, which travels to every corner of the planet, enclosed in our bottles and flavours. And as the beloved Elytis says, “ With an olive tree, a vine and a boat you can rebuild Greece... ”.
