Bosinakis Winery
In the village of Steno, high in the Mantineia plateau of the Peloponnese, Bosinakis is a winery built on family tradition and a deep-rooted passion for quality wine. The Bosinakis family has been working these vineyards for more than 50 years, and their approach to winemaking has always come back to a single, simple goal: to let the grapes tell their own story, rather than imposing one on them.
The estate has been producing wine since 1992, but it wasn't until 2009 that the family took the step of bottling under its own label for the first time, releasing their PDO Mantineia and marking the start of a new chapter for a winery whose roots go back decades longer than its shelf presence suggests. Today, Bosinakis is run by siblings Sotiris, Katerina and Konstantinos who carry that family legacy forward while continuing to refine what the estate is capable of.
At the heart of everything is Mantineia itself. The region's high-altitude vineyards and distinct microclimate (cool mountain air, clay loam soils and proper diurnal temperature shifts) create ideal conditions for the noble Moschofilero grape, the variety around which the estate's wines are built. It's a grape that rewards patience and precision, and the Bosinakis family's decades of hands-on experience in these particular vineyards show in the clarity and character of the wines: aromatic, textured, and unmistakably a product of place.
Half a century of vineyard experience paired with a relatively young bottling history gives Bosinakis a distinctive position among Mantineia producers. It has all the accumulated knowledge of a long-established estate, but has come to expressing that knowledge in bottle only in the last two decades, which has left room for genuine curiosity and experimentation alongside tradition. The result is a portfolio that respects Moschofilero's PDO expression while celebrating its potential in unchartered territory; more recently with a Pet Nat and the celebrated 'light red' Aspela.
Bosinakis remains, above all, a family project, where a long history in the vineyard and a newer chapter in the cellar meet, and where the wines are left to speak for themselves.
